Durham Downloads

Durham residents and visitors now have updated tools to showcase their pride in and love for Durham. Three choices of desktop wallpaper and a vibrant screensaver showcasing many of Durham's most popular visitor features are available for download.

Also, the local group Bull City Syndicate is offering a free download of their song “Bull City Groove,” from the new album You Make Me Feel (see www.durhamstuff.com for more from this band).

Durham Screensaver

1. Click on the link below to download the screensaver file. (Note: file will download as a .zip file. If you are using a version of Windows prior to XP, you may have to use a third-party software, such as WinZip, to unzip the file.)

(depending on your connection speed, file may take a few minutes to download.)

2. When prompted, select "Save" to computer in the dialog box. Navigate to where you'd like to save the screensaver file.

3. When download is completed, click "Open Folder." This will open the folder to which you saved the screensaver file.

4a. For Windows Vista: Double-click the file "durhamscreensaver.zip." Click "Extract all files" in the file explorer toolbar. Right-click on the file named dcvb4.exe and select "Run as Administrator."

4b. For Windows XP and older: Double-click the file "durhamscreensaver.zip" to extract it, or use your third-party software to unzip the file. Double-click on the file dcvb4.exe to run.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the screensaver.
